Adaptogens
Adaptogens increase the state of non-specific resistance in stress and decrease sensitivity to stressors, which results in stress protection, and prolong the phase of resistance. Adaptogens are natural substances—specifically herbs, roots, and mushrooms—that help the body manage physical, chemical, and emotional stress. They work by regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which controls the body’s stress response, aiding in reducing fatigue, improving mental focus, and restoring balance (homeostasis).
